Test Detail: FISH (Fluorescence in situ hybridization) is a technique to detect specific DNA sequence in your body cells. It helps to diagnose genetic diseases, to map the genes & look for genetic defects in cancers. This test identifies the most common chromosome defect t(8;21) in a type of blood cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). If you have this abnormality, it is a good sign.
