It is the most abundant metal in the earth's crust. This test is used to monitor patients on repeated dialysis and those with prosthetic implants in the body. This is important as Aluminium is a toxic metal and accumulation in the brain can lead to Dementia.Sample Type: BLOOD-URINEInstruction: Patient should avoid taking antacids and aluminium containing medications prior to specimen collection. If Gadolinium or Iodine containing contrast media has been administered, the specimen should not be collected for 96 hours. Use only specified containers available from LPL.
